Saltburn Drama Festival
Held annually in March
The '53 hosts a preliminary round of the All England Theatre Festival of One Act Plays. We encourage entries from local drama groups who compete for a range of trophies and awards, and for the coveted title of Best Production.
The overall winner of the Festival goes forward to the Northern Area Final, held in May.

Last year
We got to the Semi Final!
Saturday 3rd May 2025 we performed Drag Queen Story Hour at the Northern Final of the All England Theatre Festival in Sunderland .
Whilst we were at the semi final we sadly didn't come home with any awards but we were nominated for
The Adjudicators Award - Craig H's Writing and Directing of the play
Beth Actor - John G Portrayal of Pastor John Devin
Best Actress- Beth M portrayal of Charlie Blake

A qualifying round in the All England Theatre Festival for One Act Drama
The '53 is proud to host a preliminary round of the AETF in March each year at Saltburn Community Theatre.
