Saltburn Drama Festival
Held annually in March
The '53 hosts a preliminary round of the All England Theatre Festival of One Act Plays. We encourage entries from local drama groups who compete for a range of trophies and awards, and for the coveted title of Best Production.
The overall winner of the Festival goes forward to the Northern Area Final, held in May.

We got to the Semi Final!
The weekend of the 29th - 30th April 2023 we performed Cream Cracker under the Settee at the Northern Semi Final. At the All England Theatre Festival in Liverpool.
The wonderfully talented Sally Lewis won the best Actress award. We are extremely proud of her.
Unfortunately we didn’t win best production but we are very proud of our achievements and all that took part.

The '53 is proud to host a preliminary round of the AETF in March each year at Saltburn Community Theatre.
